The 2021 World Snooker Championship will take place from 17th April to 3rd May 2021 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
The qualifiers will run from 5th to 14th April at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, where 128 participants, including Steven, will compete for one of the 16 coveted spots in the championship.
Managing Director of Edwards 1902, Richard Arundel, says, “We are very pleased to support Steven in the final ranking event of the season and we look forward to following his progress. AKP Group, which includes Edwards 1902, has a strong track record of supporting local talent. We are delighted to be able to support Steven to further his professional career and fulfil his dreams. We’re so proud that Steven will represent our Edwards 1902 English Potato Vodka brand and the whole team here would like to wish Steven the very best of luck for securing a place in the World Championship.”
James Kirby, Owner of Stirlin, says, “We are so proud to have supported and partnered with Steven throughout the 2020-21 snooker season. Steven is a very talented professional with a fantastic future ahead of him. We are delighted that local businesses have come forward to support Steven throughout the season – thank you to Edwards 1902, Tradeglaze, Core Architects and JS Tayloring, in particular. The team and I at Stirlin wish Steven the very best of luck for this final ranking event of the season.”
Steven Hallworth says of the support, “I’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at Edwards 1902 for stepping forwarding and supporting me in undoubtedly the biggest event on my snooker calendar. My road to the Crucible Theatre starts here and hopefully I can perform well. The support has allowed me to prepare well in the run up to the event, giving me financial peace of mind going forward and allowing me to solely focus on the job at hand.”
“Thank you to all of the local businesses that have supported me and of course to Stirlin for their incredible support all season. Without the support, both on and off the table, it would be very difficult for me to play professional snooker, so for that I’m extremely grateful.”
Steven will play Dean Young in the first round of the qualifiers tonight at 7:30pm, which can be watched on the Eurosport player app.
